I think mods are a little trigger happer with the banning. And a 3 day ban for 'backseat modding'? Why is backseat modding even exist? I mean I know if someone is going like 'This thread should be locked and everyone who posted in caps should be banned.' then maybe they deserve a little time away from the bbs.

So far, not liking the BBS rules not that much, anymore. Not that I'll be leaving anytime soon, though.

I think it would be a good idea to introduce a warning system, so if you post on a spam thread (or anything else that breaks the 'rules') you get a warning which is recorded, and 2 or 3 offences and your banned. It would make alot more sense then just banning someone because they made a minor mistake.

Spam is when you don't contribute, so posting "FUCK THIS THREAD" is clearly spam. If you get banned, deal with it, it isn't the end of the world.

Yes for the "back seat modding" is stupid, but the spam thread is a little no. It bumps the topic, which you shouldn't do.

Backseat modding used to just be asking mods to give people bans/lock threads, not it's just a retarded rule.

if you've been on NG long enough, you can tell which threads are the "spam threads". They're kind of obvious usually.

Whenever you see a rule-breaking thread, just leave it alone, as if it didn't exist. After some time you start doing this automatically.

Bans don't re-educate people at all, most users keep getting banned. I often get banned for replying to spam topics, usually with a small joke. Other times, I get banned under the hateful speech rule (including getting banned for making a rape joke, because it was "discussing illegal material and sexist").

Having said that, it's been a while since my last ban, but I will walk into one sooner or later.

l once broke a "big rule"of the BBS cause l posted in an old thread and so it was considered a "bump" (note-l didn't know it was old).
But the mod was extremely nice to me, she (yes, she) even thanked me for "being so cooperative" with her...so she just deleted my post..

I hate backseat mods. But when someone is just like "That belongs 'here'" or "You can't post ___ threads", that's not backseat modding. Backseat modding is when people say shit like "That's against the runes. You need to be banned".

Isn't pointing things out to mods +points to being modded? How do you get modded if a factor is against the rules? Like I can see if you're immature about like: THIS THREAD SHOULD BE DELETED AND YOUR THE MOST FUCKING STUPIDEST PERSON ON EARTH FOR POSTING IT" But in your case, that was not an issue.
